RENÉ THIBAULT EXCELLENCE AWARD

Since 1995, the organizing committee of the Mousquiri National Atom Tournament, in collaboration with the Town of Richmond, has honoured the memory of one of the tournament’s great builders and a devoted community volunteer, Me René Thibault, who passed away in the spring of 1994, by creating the René Thibault Excellence Award.

AWARD RECIPIENTS

Peter Griffith and Mark Murphy

This year’s recipients are two well-known figures in the Richmond community, recognized for their sustained involvement in the business sector for the past 43 years. The award is presented to Messrs. Peter Griffith and Mark Murphy, executives of Moulée Vallée Feeds in Richmond.

Founded in 1987 by these two entrepreneurs, the company is the result of expertise developed as early as 1982, when Messrs. Griffith and Murphy were already working in the same field within two separate companies located in Richmond (Meunerie Johann) and Durham-Sud (Coote, Murphy and Viens).

Well known throughout the Estrie region, Moulée Vallée specializes in the manufacturing and distribution of high-quality feed and grain products for livestock and horses. The Richmond-based company also offers a wide range of products through its store, divided into three sections: agricultural products, equestrian supplies, and pet products. In addition, it provides equine nutrition consulting services. Moulée Vallée employs more than fifteen people.

Beyond their important role in the region’s economic life, the leaders of Moulée Vallée actively support numerous sporting, agricultural, and school-related projects, as well as various community organizations. They have also been involved in the Mousquiri Tournament as a coach (Mark Murphy) and as fathers of players.

Messrs. Peter Griffith and Mark Murphy will receive the René Thibault Excellence Award on Friday, February 6, at 6:40 p.m.
